Time To Plant!

It's my favorite time of the year, when everything is turning green and the sun is warm and bright. It's time to dig in the dirt and make things grow.

So far we have planted flowers, bachelors buttons and a few others, as well as some herbs. Later this week we will plant several varieties of tomatoes and peppers. I am trying to decide what else to plant, the more we plant the better since we have plenty of room and love to eat veggies!

We don't have the best dirt for growing, since we live in an area that is predominately sand, but with a lot of TLC we can produce some impressive plants. Hopefully I will be able to post some plant pictures before to long!

What are your plans for gardening this year?

  1. Our perenniels are emerging. The crocuses have already bloomed. The Irises and lilies are already coming up. I have not seen the tulips yet, but they will be here soon.

I have to wait for the snow to go before I can get the veggies in. We have four raised beds for veggies.

  2. Everything I plant usually dies lol I am considering doing a hanging strawberry plant though. I think I could handle that one.

  3. I already started planting, using old egg cartons. I have the little seedlings in my house right now and I am about to transplant many of my little egg pods into a larger container for more growth. I had planned to get started cleaning out my garden, but we just got 6in a snow dumped on us!

  5. Our weather is far too unpredictable to think about planting until about May usually. I am so envious! I have big plans for tomatoes this year. I love them, I love to freeze them, I can't get enough tomatoes. :)

I haven't decided what, or if anything, will accompany it, though.
